Academy of Distinguished Teachers, University of Minnesota, 2006-2011
The Academy of Distinguished Teachers is a forum through which its members provide important leadership to the University community, serving as mentors, advisers, and spokespersons for the University’s teaching mission. Academy members are award-winning faculty who come from all five of the University’s campuses. The Academy also hosts an annual three-day retreat and a teaching conference.

The Council for Associate Deans provides a forum where Associate Deans across all five campuses of the University of Minnesota meet once a month to discuss issues in higher education, problem solve, develop new collaborations, and share information.

The CIC is a consortium of the Big Ten universities plus the University of Chicago. Each year approximately 50 heads and chairs from CIC universities come together for a unique leadership development seminar.

Established in 1989, this intensive professional development experience develops the leadership and managerial skills of faculty who have demonstrated exceptional ability and academic promise. Many of the programs nearly 1,000 Fellows have gone on to serve with distinction as college presidents, provosts, and deans. Fellows are appointed for terms of one year.
